Middleton open Gardens

The ever-popular Middleton Open Gardens returns to its usual time slot, and this year’s event sees 14 gardens being open to view. From formal to wildlife reserve, small to large (from patio garden to 5 acres!), the event offers a huge variety of gardens for visitors to enjoy. Gardeners are happy to share tips but if you just want to sit, relax and enjoy the gardens that’s fine too; visitors have even been known to snooze in the sunshine! The event is run by local volunteers who love to share their beautiful village, and visitors can be assured of a warm welcome. Refreshments are available all day at the Recreation Ground and there will also be afternoon Cream Teas in the Village Hall. Parking and ticket sales (£5 for adults; children free) are at the Recreation Ground (clearly signposted in the village), together with free programmes and maps. Dogs are welcome in most gardens with owners’ consent, but always on a lead please. The event raises funds for Holy Trinity Church which after over 900 years remains a focus of worship at the centre of the community. The event will also support The Blossom Appeal, which is raising funds for a new Breast Care Centre for Ipswich and Colchester Hospitals.
