Sue is a local artist working mainly in professional colour pencils and pastels. However she does love to work white on to black surfaces as there is almost a serene look that is achieved. Her inspiration comes from the natural world with all its beautiful colours and shapes. In-between her art projects she likes to create pictures with the method of papercutting. This is a unique artform taking several hours to several days to complete. Using a Swann Morton scalpel with non-surgical blades the pieces of paper are carefully cut away from a single sheet of paper, leaving behind an intricate design. The design is completely intact, which is mounted and then secured in place.
