Improvement work for Mildenhall Recycling Centre
Work is due to start on Monday 19 September to expand the site of Mildenhall Recycling Centre. The new layout of the site, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year, will improve traffic flow and parking, as well as allowing full containers to be serviced from a dedicated area without needing to close the site each time.
The initial works are not expected to cause disruption to the normal service available at the Recycling Centre, however a short three-day closure will be needed at some point during November. Closure dates will be published through notices on site and site staff will be able to advise customers. There is also information available at www.suffolkrecycling.org.uk, and @SuffolkHWRC.
Suffolk County Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Public Protection, Councillor Matthew Hicks said:
“We have commissioned the site operator FCC Environment to carry out this work to ensure that the Recycling Centre continues to be fit-for-purpose now and in the future. The improved site layout will mean that the waste and recycling vehicles will be separated from the public area for a smoother, easier and safer experience. We hope customers will enjoy the benefits of the new site layout later in the year.”
